Unusual Activities to Do in Punta Cana
ATV Tour
One of the most adventurous things you can do is an ATV tour, it’s a must and one of the best ways to explore an area. If you’re not used to this kind of activity, don’t worry, the tours are guided and will take you to the Dominican jungles, with stunning stops at Vacamo Beach, also you’ll be able to visit a river (Rio Dos Bocas) and a lookout on top of a mountain. Great way to explore different areas, and get closer to wildlife.
If you don’t feel like driving a bike, don’t worry, you can do two people on a double atv, that way you can enjoy the tour freely.
Cenote Hoyo Claro
This stunning natural monument is by far one of the most unusual activities to do in Punta Cana. It’s a cenote, a freshwater well or pond that’s supplied by an underground river. The water is super clear, and the color is stunning, an intense blue or turquoise that gives you a sense of surrealism.
Most visitors miss this natural attraction due to not knowing it or just don’t want to do the hike and path it takes to get to Hoyo Claro, it’s located in a secluded area in a palm forest, there are other lagoons and great things to check on your way there. A must-Visit!
Horseback Riding
Think about the horseback riding tour (it’s an excursion) like an atv tour, but without the aggressiveness that comes with a 4-wheeler vehicle. The biggest draw about this tour is you can connect with a stunning animal, while you walk on the beach with the sun setting, the sound of the waves, and the breeze on your face.
An ideal adventure for couples, but you can do it by yourself too. Definitely one of the best ways to check out the beautiful side of this area in the Caribbean, natural landscapes, fauna, and flora.
